Attorney Munroe graduated from Boston College in 1971 and obtained her law degree from the University of Connecticut in 1987. She was admitted to the state bar of Connecticut in 1988 and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut in 1991.
Ms. Munroe is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the American Bar Association, where she is a member of the Tort and Insurance Practice Section.
Ms. Munroe is a former officer of Travelers Insurance Company, having served from 1981 to 1986 as Manager of the Environmental Claim Office, and from 1986 to 1990 as a Director in the Special Liability Group. In those capacities, she was a founding member of the Environmental Claim Managers' Association and the Complex Claims Litigation Association.
In private practice since 1990, Ms. Munroe has represented insurers in various landmark insurance coverage cases, including Heyman Associates No.1 v. Insurance Co. of the State of Pa., 653 A.2d 122 (Conn. 1995) (absolute pollution exclusion); Reichhold Chemicals, Inc. v. Hartford A&I Co., 703 A.2d 1132 (Conn. 1997) (choice of law/pollution exclusion); Metropolitan Life Ins. Co. v. Aetna Cas. & Sur. Co., 765 A.2d 891 (Conn. 2001) (asbestos); and Ireland v. Worcester Ins. Co., 826 A.2d 577 (N.H. 2003) (uninsured motorist). She concentrates her practice on insurance coverage litigation and toxic tort/products liability litigation.
